2021

96 % of judgments on applications for leave to appeal that were delivered in 2021 were delivered within two months from the date of hearing or receipt of last submission. 

67% of judgments for substantive appeals that were delivered in 2021 were delivered within six months from the date of hearing or receipt of last submission. 

The Chief justice considers that in 2021 one judgment of the Court was outstanding beyond a reasonable time for delivery . That judgment was delivered before the end of 2021.

2020

95 % of judgments on applications for leave to appeal that were delivered in 2020 were delivered within two months from the date of hearing or receipt of last submission.

57 % of judgments for substantive appeals that were delivered in 2020 were delivered within six months from the date of hearing or receipt of last submission. (1*)

The Chief Justice considers that in 2020 one judgment of the Court was outstanding beyond a reasonable time for delivery. That judgment was delivered before the end of 2020.

(1*) One judgment was delivered outside the 6 month period only because the parties requested that it not be delivered while settlement discussions were taking place.

2019

82% of judgments on applications for leave to appeal were delivered within one month from the date of hearing or receipt of last submission.

88% of judgments for substantive appeals were delivered within six months from the date of hearing or receipt of last submission.

The Chief Justice does not consider that any judgment of the Court to have been outstanding beyond a reasonable time for delivery.

2018

86% of judgments on applications for leave to appeal were delivered within one month from the date of hearing or receipt of last submission.

81% of judgments for substantive appeals were delivered within six months from the date of hearing or receipt of last submission.

The Chief Justice does not consider that any judgment of the Court to have been outstanding beyond a reasonable time for delivery.
